CORRINE RANSON: "CERF VOLANT" AT GALLERY A

Corinne Ranson’s series of mesmerizing paintings are being exhibited at Gallery A. The works in her show, “Cerf Volant”, capture the relationship between the known and the unknown. Corrine expertly conveys the comfort of familiarity and the anxiety of mystery by placing collages made out of photographs on backgrounds of random color.  The individual elements - form, color, space, and texture – of the pieces have recognizable qualities. When they are merged together they produce compositions of irrational images that require serious contemplation. By bringing the spirit of both the real world and the metaphysical world into consciousness, Ranson’s intellectual paintings encourage the viewer to develop a deeper understanding of the universe’s transcendental existence.

Corinne Ranson: "Cerf Volant" will be on exhibition through August. Gallery A is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11a.m. - 5p.m.

Judith Judy- “Beyond the Real” presented by Alex Gallery

Alex Gallery is currently showing 35 of Judith Judy’s incredible landscapes.  Local artist Judith Judy has mastered the ability to translate nature’s expressive power onto canvas.  In her show “Beyond the Real,” Judy captures the mystifying feelings of nature’s overwhelming and fantastic beauty.  Judy’s luminous paintings combine layers of oil paints with materials such as gold leaf, to become breathtaking compositions.  While the paintings’ images are grounded in nature, Judy’s scenes transcend their earthly physicality and take on a heavenly aura.

Judith Judy: “Beyond the Real” will be on display until July 13.  The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday 11a.m.-5p.m.
