Corinne Ranson’s series of mesmerizing paintings are being
exhibited at Gallery A. The works in her show, “Cerf Volant”, capture the
relationship between the known and the unknown. Corrine expertly conveys the comfort
of familiarity and the anxiety of mystery by placing collages made out of
photographs on backgrounds of random color. The individual elements - form, color,
space, and texture – of the pieces have recognizable qualities. When they are merged together they produce compositions of irrational images that
require serious contemplation. By bringing the spirit of both the real world
and the metaphysical world into consciousness, Ranson’s intellectual paintings
encourage the viewer to develop a deeper understanding of the universe’s transcendental
existence.
Corinne Ranson: "Cerf Volant" will be on exhibition through August. Gallery A is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11a.m. - 5p.m.
