Two exhibitions with different takes on Japanese fashion are opening at The Textile Museum next Saturday, October 17. While the main show, Contemporary Japanese Fashion: The Mary Baskett Collection, includes over thirty finished garments (think everything from gowns to jumpsuits) the partner show Fabrics of Feathers and Steel: The Innovation of Nuno assembles the ingredients - examples of the shimmering and often playful fabrics from the Nuno Corporation of Japan. Each show promises to be inspiring - look forward to an innovative installation, public programs and (of course) great new exhibition-themed goods in the museum shop. See you next Saturday!
