At 6 pm, Afrofunk orchestra Chopteeth invades the auditorium with a blend of American Funk, Afrobeat, and West African music in celebration of Man Ray, African Art and the Modernist Lens. Gallery talks at 6 and 7 pm tell the story of Man Ray, heiress Nancy Cunard, and the jazz and poetry opus Henry-Music. At 6:30 and 7:30 pm, curator Elsa Smithgall shares her perspective on the exhibition Object as Subject: Photographs of the Czech Avant-Garde. Throughout the evening DJ Todd Threats will spin in the Music Room as cash bar and light refreshments are served.

Programs related to Man Ray, African Art and the Modernist Lens are included in admission to the special exhibition; free for Phillips members. All other programs and permanent collection are by donation.
